PSYCHOLOGY CLUB

The subject under discussion at th* Practical Psychology Club last Thursday evening was " Getting on with People." It was stated that one must, be willing to learn from others, to keep the mind and' heart open, and to look on life as a great school of experience. The greater understanding a man had, first of himself and then of others, the more kindly, 1 patient and tolerant he Appreciation of another was a great' asset in getting on with people, as. no matter how great and powerful a man was. there were times when he became discouraged and inxneed of appreciation. Interest in his hobbies would prove an effective means of forming congenial relationship with another, and one must be prepared to give and take in a sympathetic manner. A true fellowship led to self-discipline when one became less self-centred. When man \ had learned the lesson of fellowship, he would no longer force himself to do things for others, he would prefer to do so. One needed to throw envy and > jealousy out of the system and take joy in the success of others. Nothing could give one hurt feelings but one’s own reactions and thoughts. It was always best to give out love and to measure love not - by what was received, but by what one could give. Before finding fault it wa» wise psychologically to find and point out a virtue.
