EARNINGS £139.621 HIGHER A profit of £353,504 is shown in the accounts of Australian Iron and Steel, Ltd. for the' year ended November 30, an increase of £139,621. This result ■ is struck after providing £550,772 for depreciation, against £272,090 in 19s !- 38. The sum of £106,809 was. brought forward, making £460,312 available. Of this preference dividend for two years and a-half to November 1, 1937, has already been paid, absorbing £145,312, and it is now proposed to pay preference dividend for two years and a-half to May 1. 1940, requiring a similar ' amount, leaving £169,687 to be carried forward.
