PIONEERS OF THE MODERN TRANSPORT INDUSTRY.—A bullock-team and wagon of the kind which in the 50’s and 60’s played an important part in the opening up of new country. Although slow and cumbersome, these ungainly equipages were reliable, and, as was narrated by Mr R. T. Stewart at the Otago Early Settlers’ Association’s Anniversary Day meeting on Saturday afternoon, were invaluable to the early colonists.
