OBITUARY
MRS SOPHIA NICHOL J^* The death has occurred at Invercat gill of Mrs Sophia Nichol, . aged 8v years. Mrs Nichol, who was born in Glasgow; was a resident of Otago arid Southland for 66 years, having arrived, in Dunedin with her parents. Mr and Mrs James Edmond, in 1874 V by the ship Invercargill. She Resided in Mosgiel for many years, and in 1912 moved to Southland, her home being at. Niagara, near Waikawa. Her husband, Mr Johnstone Nichol, predeceased her by nine years. During the past two years she lived in Invercar* gill. Mrs Nichol, who was of a bright and cheerful disposition, was a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church, and in her younger days was connected with the choir work of that church both in Glasgow and New Zealand. She leaves a family of.one daughter, Mrs N. M. Dunlop, of Invercargill, and one son, Mr J. E. Nichol, chief inspector of Customs, Wellington.
