FIGURES FOR FEBRUARY INCREASE IN MARRIAGES The vital statistics for Dunedin for the month of February show that 102 marriages were registered, compared with 67 for the corresponding month of last year. There have been fewer, births, however, the total for last month being 103 as against 123 _ for February, 1939. Deaths show a slight increase. The figures for the month, together with those for February of last year, are as follows: —

Registration of Dogs The Government is still experiencing difficulty in obtaining supplies of the specific for the prevention of hydatids in dogs, and as a result dogowners are being granted yet another month’s grace in the registration of their animals. A Press Association message from Wellington states that the new date specified in the regulations gazetted last night for such registration is April 1.

Another dance will be held at 9 o’clock this evening at the Embassy Salon by Mr Reg. Stilwell, when Pat Harbrow's Band will supply the music for a full programme of old-time and modern dances until 1 a.m. In honour of the St. Kilda Band, a public welcome dance will be held tomorrow evening in the Coronation Hall, St. Kilda. In order to suit the taste of old and young, a popular programme of old-time and modern dances has been arranged.
