A charge of 5s will be made for the replacement of the coupons, and a statutory declaration will also be required before they are issued. The charge for this declaration will be 3s. The regulations enable the commissioner to recall coupons should occasion arise and by way of penalty for a false declaration the commissioner may prevent a person from obtaining coupons f or the duration of the war. GOODS SERVICE VEHICLES AN ANNUAL INSPECTION (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 29. A change in the departmental system of the inspection of goods vehicles is provided for in the Transport Goods Service Regulations, Amendment No. 3, and the Transport Goods Order, 1939, Amendment No. 4, which were issued with to-night’s Gazette. The alterations are mostly of a departmental nature, but to a certain extent they will have an effect on transport operators. Under the present system transport vehicles are inspected every six months by the department’s inspectors and certificates of fitness are issued accordingly. The new system will bring transport vehicles into line with passenger service vehicles in that there will be only one Inspection annually, but no change will be made in the fees charged—that is, the two sixmonthly fees will be collected for the one inspection.
