Mee—Henaghan

The marriage was celebrated at St. Joseph's Cathedral on Tuesday morning jf Edward, only son of Mr and Mrs E. Mee, of Duncan street, and Ellen Veronica, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs W. T. Henaghan, of Princes street, Musselburgh. The Rev. Father Loughnan performed the ceremony, which was followed by nuptial mass. The altar was decorated with white and gold gladioli. Mrs C. Ibbotson was the organist, and during the mass and at the signing of the register, Miss Bertha Vallis sang "Panis Angelicus" and Gounod's "Ave Maria."

The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore an exquisite frock of creme georgette, Indian hand-embroid-ered in silver and gold, made with a heart-shaped neckline, and with a softly-draped bodice fastened with a row of tiny loops and buttons at the back. The full sleeves were gathered at the elbow and finished with buttons to the wrist. A beautiful train fell in soft folds from' a panel of shirring at the hipline on the circular skirt. Her lulle veil was draped from a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of lilies in her arm and carnations veiitu in maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid, Miss Mary Henaghan. sister of the bride, wore a slightly trained frock of gold moire taffeta cut on princess lines and finished with pleating at the hem. Her gold straw hat was trimmed with veiling, which fell to the shoulder from a large bow at the back. A lovely bouquet of gold glajioli, roses, and maidenhair fern completed her toilet. Mr James Cull acted as best man, and the ushers were Messrs W. T. Henaghan, jun., and Gerald Kavanagh. After the nuptial mass the wedding party visited the Dominican nuns, both bridle and bridegroom having been Dominican ex-pupils. The reception was held at Wain's Hotel, where upwards of 80 guests were entertained. The bridal table was arranged with crystal bowls of Marechal Neil roses and tall vases of Iceland poppies, while the gold colour scheme was carried out in early chrysanthemums and poppies on the other tables. Mrs Henaghan wore an ensemble of black tulip embroidered georgette, with navy straw hat and accessories to tone. She carried a bouauet of pink shaded carnations. Mrs Mee, the bridegroom's mother, wore a black model frock and smart black felt hat trimmed with white; her bouquet was of white and scarlet carnations. For travelling, the bride wore a brown tailored coat trimmed with honey-coloured fur over a lime silk frock. A pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Enoch's Presbyterian Church, Alexandra, on January 10, the contracting parties being James Spence, third son of Mr and Mrs J. B. Lee, of Kati Kati, Bay of Plenty, and Rita May, third daughter of Mr and Mrs H. W. Beilby, of Alexandra. The marriage was solemnised by the Very Rev. H. H. Barton, M.A. (uncle of the bride), sssisted by the Rev. H. W. West, B.A. Miss Doris Beilby, sister of the bride, presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church with her father, looked charming in a gown of cream lace. She carried a shower bouquet of St. Joseph lilies and maidenhair fern, and wdre a long tulle veil, a coronet of orange blossom, and a double String of pearls. In attendance were the bride's sisters, Misses Norma and Margery Beilby, the former in rose-pink net over taffeta trimmed with silver, and the latter in pale blue net over. taffeta. Each wore a coronet of flowers and silver leaves to match, and carried bouquets of pink dahlias, carnations, end maidenhair fern. ~,•_! The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr Andrew Lees, of Kati Kati, and his cousin, Mr Harry Lees, of Wadestown, Wellington. Messrs J. A. and H. C. Beilby acted as' ushers. At a reception held in Jubilee Hall the guests were received by Mrs Beilby, who wore a black floral ensemble with a black hat relieved with red flowers, and carried a bouquet of red roses. Assisting her was Mrs H. n. Barton, aunt of the bride, in a black lace frock and hat to match, and carrying a bouquet of pink sweet peas and carnations. ' .. Wilson—Hopkins Relatives and intimate friends v/ere the guests at a pretty wedding solemnised recently at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Palmerston by the Ven. Archdeacon Button, assisted by the yen. Archdeacon Russell, of Oamaru. The contracting parties were Victor Reginald Cuthbert, son of Mrs Wilson, of Palmerston. and the late Mr Charles Wilson, and Lucy Evelyn Maude, only daughter of Mr and Mrs W, J. Hopkins, of " Rawhiti,' Palmerston. Miss Nellie Picket presided at 'ic tan. The bride, who wore a dainty ivory silk frock with satin buttons and sash, and an embroidered wedding veu with coronet of orange blossoms, carried a bouquet of regale lilies and maidenhair ferns. She was escorted by her father. Preceding the bride up the aisle was a flower girl, Miss June Kennedy (cousin of the bride), who was dressed in an ankle-length frock of pirk crepe de chine trimmed with posies of flowers. A pink and gold bandeau and a bouquet of pink sweet peas and maidenhair fern completed her toilet, The bridesmaid, Miss Lucy Margaret (Peggy) Bechervaise, of Geelong, Australia (cousin of the bride), wore a green embossed taffeta frock trimmed with lovers' knots and plaited girdle. Her gold shoulder veil was surmounted by a green and gold coronet, and she carried a bououet of gold arum lilies and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended bv Mr R. M. Service as best man. Private Ivan Allcock (cousin of the bride) and Mr J. Roberts acted as ushers.

A reception was held in the Oddfellows Hall, where the guests were received by Mr and Mrs Hopkins and Mrs Wilson. The bride's mother wore a navy frock relieved with white, and a navy coat and hat. Her bouquet was of red and pink sweet peas and antirrhinums. Coutts—-Finch The marriage was solemnised at the Tokomairiro Presbyterian Church on the evening of December 21, of Herbert, younger son of Mr and Mrs G Coutts. of Brooklands. Miltoi- and Vera Myrtle, younger daughter of Mr K. R Finch, of "Hawthorne Lodge," Milton and the late Mrs Finch The offlciatinp minister was the Rev. S. T. Nicholls, and Mrs W Dixon presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, was attired in a dainty frock of ivory satin, with matching lace and a long train with lace insets. Her veil was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of regal lilies. Miss Bertha Taylor (cousin of the bride) attended as bridesmaid, in a frock of mermaid blue ninon, the bodice and full skipt being trimmed with large bows and'posies of flowers. She wore a halo in Dink and blue shades, and carried a bouquet of roses. Mr J. Milne, of Alexandra (cousin of the bridegroom), attended as best man. and Messrs H. Andrews and R. Coutts acted as ushers. At a reception held at the Motorists' Tea Rooms. Mrs H. Andrews, wearing

a navv costume and hat and fur stole, received the guests. Assisting her was Mrs G. Coutts. wearing a floral frock and navy edge-to-edge coat and hat. For travelling, the bride had chosen a frock of tan moss crepe, trimmed with Persian blue posy and belt, and hat to match.
