AMERICA NEUTRAL
BUT NOT IN THOUGHT ABLE TO DISCERN FALSEHOOD NEW YORK, Oct. 27. (Received Oct. 28, at 1 a.m.) President Roosevelt, broadcasting, described as a shameless and dishonest fake and a deliberate setting up of a bogeyman the talk of sending Americans to fight in Europe, because no responsible person ever suggested the remote possibility of it. “The fact of the international situation is that the United States is neutral and does not intend to become involved in war. It is impossible that we can be neutral in thought as well as act when Americans begin to know the difference between truth and falsehood. No matter how often falsehood is reiterated, repetition does not transform a lie into truth,”
