(Received Oct. 4, at 0.15 a.m.) The New York Times Shanghai correspondent states that coincident with reports that Afghanistan is mobilising males between 25 and 45, and repeated Soviet border violations, it has been reported from the interior of China that enormous bodies of Soviet troops are entering Sinkiang, using the highways connecting Urumchi with the Turksieb railway. Some declare that there are already 300,000 armed troops inside Sinkiang who can be used either against Britain in Tibet or India or to aid Chinese Communists in Shensi. It has been reported from Chungking that the Soviet Ambassador is bringing pressure on Marshal Chiang Kai-shek to declare in favour of Russia and . Germany. The British United Press Moscow correspondent says Dr Selter telegraphed to M. Molotov testifying the gratitude of the Estonian Government for Russia's wise guidance in the Moscow negotiations and the happy conclusion of the talks in a friendly agreement aiming at a further development of neighbourly collaboration. Munters went to Moscow by air in order to review Russian-Latvian relations in the light of the RussianEstonian and Russian-German agreements. BARTER ARRANGEMENTS HUNGARY AND GERMANY LONDON, Oct. 2. The Budapest correspondent of The Times says the German trade delegation left after negotiating a new agreement under which it is believed that Hungary will increase her food exports to Germany, especially fats and oil-bearing plants in exchange for small amounts of coal and long-term credits, eventually payable in machinery and chemicals.
