GERMAN TERRITORY
FRENCH OCCUPY BIG AREA (By Wireless) DAVENTRY, Oct 3. A French communique yesterday stated that on the Western Front there had been great activity by patrols on both sides during the night. The military expert of the Petit Parisien writes that the French advance has been such that the Maginot Line is now safe from bombardment by German heavy artillery. About 150 square miles of German territory have been occupied, an advance of at least eight miles having been made in the Warndt forest.
