SAVE THE CHILDREN

New Zealanders are giving steady suoDort to the Save the Children Fund, which is administered from London It is controlled by an association the objective of which is "irrespective of race, country, or creed, to preserve child life wherever menaced bv condition of hardship or distress, and to raise the standard of child care and nrotection throughout the world." Bv payine £5 5s a year anyone can adopt" a child in various parts of the world The children remain in their own countries, and the monev is sent to local officers of the association who distribute it as and when necessary. The child is encouraged to send Dhotographs and letters to its " adooter" from time to time. Recently two New Zealanders one in Auckland and another in Masterton have adopted children. Aid is being sought at the moment particularly for Jewish children and Russian refueees. In addition, help is also recmired for Hungarians. Austrians. Germans, Poles, and Jugoslavs.
