GREEN ISLAND CLUB The Green Island Cycling Club (professional) held a race from Green Island to Kuri Bush and return on Saturday There was a strong wind blow ing on the outward journey, and the road conditions were bad. but good time was made. The placings were: J. Macartney l, J. Kennedy 2. S. Macartney 3. Fastest time: A., Woodford. 57mm 19sec. 1: J. Woodford. 57min 19 l-ssec, 2: W. J Whitson. 59min lsec, 3. C. Hansen Takes Beal Cup The annual race of the Dunedin Amateur Cycling Club for the Beal Cup was run from Mosgiel Station to Clarendon Station and return. Results:— C Hansen (3min) 1, R Shepherd (3min) 2 A. Umbers (6min) 3. Fastest times: C. Hansen (3min), 1.53.40. 1: R Shepherd (3min), 1.53.40 1-5 2; A Umbers (6min) 1.56.40 2-5, ?. The short race was held on a course from Mosgiel Station to Wingatui. then along Duke's road to Riccarton road and back to the station, the course being covered twice. Result:—P Maitland (4min) 1. S. Lamb (4min) 2 M Bardsley (smin) 3. The fastest times were gained by J McConnell (scr). 40min 19sec. 1; W Chalmers (scr). 40min 20sec. 2.
