THE FAIRFIELD BUS

TO THE EDITOR Sir.—When the 3.30 p.m. bus for Fairfield left Dunedin yesterday, August 10, some passengers had to stand owing to the front seat being piled up with parcels for Green Island. Surely those in authority could make adequate provision for the carriage of parcels without passengers having to stand.—l am, etc.. Bus Passenger.

[The above letter was referred to the manager of the Tramways Department. who informs us that the driyer's explanation is that there was an exceptional number of parcels but, when-the bus left, no passengers were standing. Only one passenger stood later, from Wilkie road to Lookout Point. It is not usual for parcels to be carried on a seat.—Ed., O.D.TJ
