MAORI HILL SCHOOL
MONTHLY MEETING OF COMMITTEE The monthly meeting of the Maori Hill School Committee was held on Monday evening. The headmaster reported a slightly increased roll, with a good average attendance. The school was making a satisfactory showing in sports, particularly basketball It was decided to make a donation towards the cost of sending two primary school Association football teams to the South Island tournament at Christchurch The Education Board advised having considered a proposal for the remodelling of the school and plans were being sent forward to the Education Department. It is probable that this work will be undertaken in the near future.
It was with regret that the committee received and accepted the resignation of Mr J. M. Wilson the headmaster. on account of his transfer to Waimate. The chairman Mr R. Duncan and Mr J D. Robb snoke in appreciative terms of the excellent service he had given to the school and wished him success in the future The resignation of Mr S Freeman as a member of the committee was received with regret and it was decided to place on record a minute of appreciation of the service he had given the school Mr J. F Poole wa« appointed to fill the vacancy
