ANNIVERSARY OF ARRIVAL A meeting of descendants of the pioneers who came to New Zealand by the ship Jura was held during the week to discuss the arrangements for celebrating the eighty-first anniversary of the vessel's arrival at Dunedin. Mr J A, Paterson occupied the chair. It was decided to have a gathering of the pioneers and descendants at the Early Settlers’ Hall on the afternoon of September 23 and a church parade at the morning service at First Church on the following day A committee was appointed to make the necessary arrangements as follows: —Messrs J. A. Paterson, G. Hutton, J. R. Fairbairn. J. Wilson, R. H. Kerr. A. Hutton. N. Hutton and Mrs Gilmour.
