SLIP ON RAILWAY
MAIN TRUNK TEMPORARILY BLOCKED PASSENGERS TRANSHIPPED (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON. Aug. 11. A slip which blocked the railway line about halfway between Te Horo and Waikanae held up the limited express from Auckland this morning. The passengers were taken by bus from Ola.ki to Waikanae. A slow train from Wellington to Palmerston North was held at Waikanae and took the passengers from the express back to Wellington. They completed their journey about 11.15 a.m. The slip occurred on a built-up portion of the line, where it is understood a similar slip occurred about two years ago.
The permanent way was not damaged. A gang of 20 men from Otaki and Waikanae was soon on the spot, clearing the line. The work was completed at 11 a.m.
