CENTENNIAL EXHIBITION
TAXATION EXEMPTIONS FREE SAMPLES OF WINE (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 10. Several Or'ders-in-Council giving effect to the legislation passed under the Centennial Act last year appear in to-night’s Gazette. These provide for the exemption of the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition Company from the payment of income tax and (in accordance with the powers conferred upon the Gov-ernor-General in the general clause of the Social Security Act) exemption from payment of the social security contributions. Under the Centennial Act provision was made for the exhibition of wines and liquors at the Rongotai Exhibition and the Gazette extends the facilities of the exhibitors concerned by authorising them to give of wines etc., the usual safeguard being provided for any abuse of the facility.
