Sir.—l could scarcely believe my eves when I saw in yesterday morning’s naoer the above heading, and underneath it the account of the plight of refugees, 11 short of food and water.” oh vessels lying off the Syrian coasthuman beings like , ourselves from several Euronean countries. I would ask the members of every organisation and in fact all individuals of age in New Zealand, just what effort thev are making to rid the world of the desnotism that causes such terrible happen ings as the above, and how much longer shall indifference and selfishness continue to blind their eyes to the great needs of the world to-day Noi a call to arms and military training for the defence of the country but a true understanding of the worth of the individual must be our aim if we would establish the Kingdom of God on earth.—l am etc. New Economist.
