BOXING
TO-NIGHT’S CONTES! Much interest is being displayed in to-night’s boxing contest in His Majesty’s Theatre between Billy Parris and Barney Down, both of Wellington. The weigh-in will take place at 5 p.m. Down has had the opportunity of building up before entering the ring, and he will probably have the advantage of three or four pounds in weight, lire amateur entries constitute a record for Otago. A number had to be refused from Invercargill, and still there will be about 60 boxers taking part. The box plan is at Jacobs’s.
