MARSHAL GAMELIN PARIS, June 6. Cabinet, with President Lebrun presiding, appointed General Gamelin general-in-chief of the armed forces, with the title of Marshal. Rear-admiral Darlin was appointed Admiral of France in full command of the navy, and M. Vuillemin Air Marshal. Cabinet approved decrees bringing Le Havre and Bordeaux under military control in the event of emergency, with stricter control over the mercantile marine Credits were voted to build up additional war reserves.
