CHILDREN’S DAY ATTENDANCES WELL MAINTAINED COMPETITION RESULTS At the invitation of the Otago Agricultural Society, approximately 1200 school children from the districts between Balclutha and Oamaru were present yesterday at the society’s Winter Show, and as a result the various bays and stalls presented a particularly busy appearance in the morning and the earlier part of the afternoon There was also a good attendance of the general public, and considerable interest was evinced in the well-arranged exhibits of produce and the bays of the various industrial firms An especially interesting display among the exhibits in the photographic competition is a series of views of the barque Penang loaned by Mr* George Thomson A novel and educative collection of posters is on show in Messrs Dalgety and Co.’s wool store annexe, among the scenic posters hung by the firm being views of the East scenes in Great Britain and on the Continent Some of these are particularly interesting in that they portray many of the better-known tourist attractions abroad as well as the routes covered by the Shaw Savill and Albion Company’s vessels.
