“NEW MOON”

A SPECTACULAR PRODUCTION Probably one of the best-staged productions ever presented by the Dunedin Operatic and Dramatic Society is the current attraction at His Majesty’s Theatre—" New Moon. This popular operatic production has been presented in Dunedin before on stage and screen and its charm never fails to appeal. The music is strikingly beautiful and its story sufficiently strong to hold the attention throughout the many brilliant, spectacubi scenes. No effort has been spared to make the production a success in every way. and the result is a credit to all concerned with its presentation. The cast is an excellent one. Louise Henderson has the principal role of Marianne, and she gels through a heavy evening’s work with credit. She has a pleasing voice, mi attractive stage manner, and no little acting ability. Opposite her, Arthur Lungley also gives an admirable performance, and his duets with Miss Henderson are features of the production. Daphne Bowman. as Marianne’s maid. Julie, ana Richard While as Vicomte Ribaud, are two other outstanding members of the cast. The comedy is entrusted to an excellent team In Stan Lawson. H. P Murphy, and John Gordon.
