FOOTBALLER'S DEATH FRACTURE OF SPINAL CORD (Per United Press Association) WHANGAREI, June 6. Arthur Stanley Jones, aged 21, single, of Okaihau, died when being taken to the Kawakawa Hospital after being injured in a football match. He was tackled and thrown heavily while running with the ball. A post-mortem examination showed a fracture of the spinal cord. STRUCK BY RAILWAY ENGINE MAORI FATALLY INJURED (Per United Press Association) WHANGAREI, June 6. Hari Rahiri, aged 23, married, of Purerua, Bay of Islands, was fatally injured yesterday when he was struck by a railway engine at Opua.
