"WHAT'S FOR LUNCH?"

ATTRACTIVE BOOK SOLVES PROBLEM The problem which frequently perplexes housewives, " What's For Lunch?" is answered in a straightforward and practical manner in a book issued by the executive of the Waikouaiti Children's Health Camp Association to augment its funds for equipment. Attractively bound, this book, which is published by Messrs Coulls, Somerville. Wilkie. Ltd., is an asset to any kitchen, for it contains recipes and menus gathered to suit all tastes. Under the title of " What's For Lunch? " the book contains at the top of each page a quotation appropriate to the menu set out below. The bulk of these cheery messages are humorous, as two at random —"After a good dinner one can forgive anybody, even one's own relations," and "The man that does not mind his stomach is a fool —it is every man's master " —will testify. There are other equally bright quips to regale the housewife as she sets abouf preparing the menu for the day. "Two things too sacred to be jested on—potatoes and matrimony," serves as an introduction to a variety of uses which potatoes can be put to. Her Excellency Lady Galway has contributed the first menu, and other contributors to this valuable and interesting publication include Lady Fergusson, Lady Sargood. Mrs Robert Kennedy. Mrs F. B. Adams, Mrs C. W Rattray, Mrs T. McKibbin, Mrs F. Fitchett, and Mrs Garth Gallaway. The matter for " What's For Lunch? " was compiled by Mrs Marshall Macdonald.
