LORRY TRAGEDY
PLUNGE OVER CLIFF THREE MEN KILLED <Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 22. Three public works employees were killed and the driver was injured when the lorry in which they were travelling left the road and plunged several hundred feet over a cliff at Little Awanui Hill, Maeranui, about .15 miles from Opotiki, on the Gisborne highway to-night. Those killed were:— Charles Norden. George Ashley. Thomas Hughes. The driver, Kitchener, suffered a fractured arm. No further details are available to-night.
