DECISIVE ACTION

HERR HITLER'S INTENTION TO ACT AS PEACEMAKER ATTITUDE TO ITALY'S AIMS (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, Dec. 21. (Received Dec. 21, at 5.5 p.m.) The News Chronicle's Berlin correspondent says Herr Hitler has decided on strong, decisive action as peacemaker between Italy and France before Mr Chamberlain goes to Rome, for which reason the Foreign Office is inquiring the minimum demands by Italy and the maximum concessions by France. Germany will not support territorial changes in Tunis, and will not back the demand for equality for Italian residents, but favours the sale of the Addis Ababa-Djibouti railway to Italy at a fair price, and supports Italy's Suez demands. She does hot support the claim to Corsica, Nice, or Savoy. Herr Hitler, through intervention, hopes to steal Mr* Chamberlain's Thunder and prove himself again to be the dominating figure in Europe.
