DIFFERENCES TO BE PROBED PRIME MINISTER AND PREMIER OTTAWA, Dec. 19. Eighty Ontario Liberals, including members of Parliament, senators and defeated candidates, unanimously adopted a vote of unbounded confidence in the Prime Minister at a caucus to consider the break with the Premier (Mr Mitchell Hepburn). Two senators and half a dozen Liberal members of Parliament were absent. The secret caucus decided to continue to probe the differences between Mr Mackenzie King and Mr Hepburn, mainly through the Premier’s allegation of masterly inactivity by the Prime Minister regarding the refunding of the national debt, the solution of unemployment, the acquisition of new markets, and alleged favouritism towards the prairie farmers at the expense of Ontario.

The situation is causing the Goyernment concern. If the Ontario electorate follows Mr Hepburn at the next election the Government is likely to suffer severely.
