SHEFFIELD SHIELD MATCHES VICTORIA BEATS QUEENSLAND MELBOURNE, Dec. 20. (Received Dec. 21, at 1 a.m.) In the Sheffield Shield match against Victoria, Queensland in the second innings lost five wkkets for 510, and declared (Allen 136, Cook 58, Baker not out 51; McCormick three for 125). Victoria in the second innings lost seven wickets for 322 (Rigg 49, Gregory 77, Hassett 73; Dixon four for 67). Victoria won by three wickets. THE MATCH IN ADELAIDE WIN FOR SOUTH AUSTRALIA ADELAIDE, Dec. 20. (Received Dec. 21, at 1 a.m.) In the Sheffield Shield match against South Australia, New South Wales in the first innings scored 390 (Chipperfield 154; Grimmett seven for 116). New South Wales followed on and in the second innings scored 155 (James 42; Grimmett four for 49, Ward four for 40). South Australian won by an innings and 55 runs.
