THE PANACEA FOR THE WORLD'S ILLS
TO THE EDITOR Sir,—The Prime Minister, in a Christmas message in which he pays a high tribute to the work of the Young Men's Christian Association of Christchurch, writes:—"The world is in such a condition to-day that we must hold fast to the doctrine of our Redeemer as the only policy which can save the nations from materialism and chaos. And I believe that, without faith in the ideals of Christianity, nations will perish." This statement by Mr Savage points to the only cure for all our troubles and the panacea for the world's ills. If ever the world is to be saved from its misery and its madness, and its murder, it will have to be through the teaching and through the life and through the death of that wonderful Christ who lived find died nearly 2000 years ago. He went round the country uttering the greatest truths that have ever been heard We have got so accustomed to them now that they seem only commonplaces, and yet in them lies the salvation of the world. Just after He commenced His ministry He said, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you."— l am, etc., J. D. Brown. Mosgiel.
