Phyllis Hodges (junior). ; WAREPA Parents, friends, and the pupils and teacher of the Kaihiku School were entertained by the pupils of the Warepa School recently, the boards inspector, Mr J. H. M. Finlayson. also being present. Historical plays, verse speaking, and singing and speeches on museum exhibits by the children comprised the first part of the programme. A feature was the display of handcrafts, needlework, and art. Gifts from the Christmas tree were distributed, arid' on the motion of the Rev. T. M. McDonald a hearty vote of thanks was passed to Miss Petrie and the children. Miss Petrie briefly replied. The annual school concert was held the following evening. Mr J. F. Ayson, chairman of the committee, presided. At the conclusion the inspector's report was read, the work of the teachei and the committee being praised for the manner in which the schopl was conducted. The Rev. T. M. McDonald presented the prizes, and after supper had been dispensed the hall was cleared for dancing. Mr Bain Bassett was pianist, and Messrs R. ST. PATRICK'S CONVENT The breaking-up ceremony of St. Patrick's Convent School, Macandrew road, took place on Thursday morning, when the senior pupils presented a programme consisting of choruses and verse-speaking by the school choir, a recitation by Colleen Ramsay and pianoforte duet by M. and E. Jennings. The Right Rev. Monsignor Delany, V.G., presided, and after the distribution of prizes congratulated the pupils on the programme and their successful year's work. The Rev.
