MANCHESTER UNITY

Little more than routine, business and preparation for the election and installation of officers at the next meeting was done at the fortnightly meeting of Loyal Centenary Lodge, at which N.G. Bro. A. Lysaght presided. Officers of Loyal Albion were present for the purpose of • contesting possession of the debating shield. The subject chosen for debate was "Young folk in New Zealand to-day have too much freedom in every respect." Taking the negative side, Loyal Albion proved too good for the holders of the shield. In giving his decision, the judge (Bro. E. Anderson, of Loyal Dunedin'* said he was agreeably surprised at the amount of preparation each team had put into the subject for debate. Bro. Anderson was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.

The Forbury School band,,under the conductorship of P.G. Bro. George Toombs, and 26 individual performers contributed to the harmony at the annual break-up meeting of Loyal Caversham Juvenile Lodge, attended by some 250 members, parents and friends. The Prov.
