! A. and P. Association | The monthly meeting of the Gore i Agricultural and Pastoral Association j was held on Friday, the president (Mr IJ. Drysdale) occupying the chair. A rough balance sheet on the recent j show was submitted by the secretary (Mr F. Young), revealing that there had been a profit of £206 14s on the f fixture. The receipts totalled £1065 j 18s 6d and the expenditure amounted to £859 4s 6d. The chairman expressed pleasure at the outstanding 1 success of the show, and extended j thanks to the members of the committee and the secretarial staff for ; their co-operation and work. H. and ! J. Smith, Ltd., wrote advising that the firm would donate a 100-piece canteen of cutlery valued at 29 guineas for competition in the draught horse section. The letter suggested that the trophy be for competition over a period of at least five years.—Suggestions were offered that the trophy be awarded to the exhibitor gaming the most points over five years, or that, it be presented to the exhibitor winning it five times at intervals, and it was agreed that the chairman and secretary confer with the manager of the firm and report to the next meeting. The Gore Pioneer Athletic Club was granted the use of the show grounds on December 27 for its annual sports. An application from Wright, Stephenson and Co- Ltd., for the use of the grounds on February 9 for the purpose of holding the annual sale of stud Romney Marsh sheep on account of J. Mosley and Sons (Clydevale) also was granted. It was resolved that the associati6n become a member of the Gore branch of the New Zealand Territorial Association and that a donation of £1 Is be granted. It was also decided to donate £2 2s to the Children's Health Camp Association. Several recommendations in connection with the conduct of the show, including the installation of a loud-speaker system, were received.
