OBITUARY
MR W. CRON The death occurred at Oamaru on Tuesday of Mr W. Cron, who had for many years been a valuable tgacher and church worker in the community. Mr Cron was the first schoolmaster to be sent to Samoa from New Zealand after that island became a mandate of the Dominion. For many years Mr Cron was first assistant teacher at the South School, and he was later appointed headmaster at Kakanui. Mr Cron was a valuable member of the Columba Church while in Oamaru, being an elder for many years, superintendent of the Sunday school, and a keen member of the Columba Debating Society, He was also the first to introduce the Children’s Young Worshippers’ League in Otago.
