CONTROVERSIAL AMENITIES

TO THE EDITOR

Sir,—l presume that I am the “ sabretoothed old badger ” to whom Dr Newlands refers to in his last letter. I have quite enjoyed his capering antics this week, but my daughters think that It would have been nicer of him if he had written “Sit down, you snowyheaded old cow! ” They forget that Dr Newlands is an educated gentleman, although he is only a first-class doctor. I am writing this on the eve of the election because I fear the doctor’s bad temper on Monday.—l am, etc., John Law.
