OCEAN BEACH CLUB SIXTH ANNUAL MEETING At the sixth annual meeting of the Ocean Beach Cricket Club, the president (Mr Clem Beck) occupied the chair. The president complimented the club on the past year’s performance. He said that it had played 20 matches, won 14. drawn 5. and lost 1. He also commented favourably on the balance sheet, which, he give the club a good start financially for the incoming season. The Watson Cup, for the best allround player, was won by Mr J. Mills. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron. Mr F. Jones, M.P.; president, Mr Clem Beck; vice-presi-dents—Messrs J. H. Pearson. S. Massetti, D, F. O’Connell. D. P. Wilson. R. Watson, I. Brown, J. R. Roscow, C. Denholm. H. W. Lanham, W. P. Chapman. P. Timlin, A. Harbott, N. Whitty, L. Beal, and Captain Pollard; secretary, Mr S. B. Jeffs: treasurer. Mr J. H. Pearson: captain, Mr F. McNaughton; vicecaptain. Mr R. F. Henderson: executive —Messrs C. Stewart, J. Mills, A. Howley, V. Holderness, J. Dunn. J. McCombie, and R. Henderson: Selection Committee —Messrs F. McNaughton. R. Henderson, and V. Holderness. It was decided to open the season with a practice on Saturday next. GRANGE LADIES’ CLUB The sixth annual general meeting of the Grange Ladies’ Cricket Club was held last week. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patroness. Mrs Bishop (re-elected); vicepatroness, Mrs Knowles (re-elected); president, Miss Knowles; vice-presi-dents—Mr and Mrs Robinson. Mr South. Mr Chadwick, Mr and Mrs Watson, Mr and Mrs Robertson. Mr .and Mrs Ferguson. Messrs T. and G. Knowles, Mr McLean, Mr J. Divers, Mr and Mrs A. Divers, Miss Hollis, Miss Riach; secretary, Mrs A. Gaffaney (re-elected): assistant secretary, Miss M. Hollis; club captain, Miss I. Walker: deputy captain. Miss H. Atkinson: Selection Committee—Mrs Gaffaney, Misses Anderson and Bishop: delegates to 0.W.C.A., Misses Bishop and Anderson: general committee— Mrs Riach, Misses Phelan, Bishop, Anderson, Gaffaney, and Watson. Several new members were present, apd the presentation of trophies for the 1937-38 season took place as follows: A Grade, batting, Miss Bishop; A Grade, bowling. Miss Hollis: Knowles Cup (aggregate). Miss Bishop (771 runs); B Grade, batting. Miss Watson: B Grade, bowling. Miss I. Walker; B Grade, aggregate, Miss Watson: most improved player, B Grade, Miss I. Walker. Miss Bishop was congratulated on winning the Hudson Cup, open to all clubs in the A and B Grade competitions. Opening day was fixed for October 8. ___
