REVENUE AND EXPENDITURE THE EXCHEQUER RETURNS - (British Official Wireless) FIUGBY, Sept. 6.‘ (Received Sept.,| 7, at 5.5 p.m.) Exchequer retu/rns show that the total ordinary revenue amounts to £265,880,733, ! compared with £268,020,387 at the corresponding date in 1937. Tpcome tax, surtax, and stamps all ’yijelded more to date than a year agp. but at £331,000 estate duties aipe over £7,000.000 less. Receipts from customs and excise are slighfily less than a vear ago. r The total expenditure, less selfbalancing itemp, is £407,500,823, compared with j£354,800.730 at the corresponding dfete in 1937. The net increase in thfj floating debt outstanding since the beginning of the financial year Js £69,225,000.
