SIZE OF BATTLESHIPS
BRITAIN AND AMERICA DISCUSSIONS PROCEEDING (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, June 15. Asked in the House of Commons whether the British Government had reached any agreement with the United States Government on the size of battleships Mr Chamberlain said the escalation discussions were still proceeding, and pending their conclusion it was not possible to make any statement, and the question whether any efforts had been made to secure Japan’s agreement not to exceed those maximum figures did not. therefore, at present arise.
