Sir, —As the opposition to the purcnase of Mr Passmore’s property at Wakari is so apparent, from the number of people who are signing a public position against it, I think, and, no doubt, there are many others who will think, that it would be a gracious act if Mr Passmore would come forward and say that the deal is “off.” The city cannot afford to proceed with this extravagant proposal, and surely Mr Passmore must realise that the completion of it would put an unnecessary burden on hjs fellow citizens.—l am, etc..
