Griffith—Howell St. Clement's Church, Waipiata, was the scene of a very pretty wedding on May 12, when Jesse Maisey, second son of Mr and Mrs J. Griffiths, of Kyeburn, was married to Nancy Emily, daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Howell, of Waipiata. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a graceful gown

of cream lace over satin, made in redingote style, and having accordion pleats in the skirt, a Peter Pan collar, long sleeves, and a train appliqued with satin flowers. A beautiful handmade veil of cream tulle was worn, and was held in place with a halo of orange blossom. The bouquet was of white chrysanthemums, maidenhair and asparagus fern. Miss Gwenda Howell (sister of the bride) and Miss Joyce Howell (a cousin), of Middlemarch attended as bridesmaids, and wore dainty frocks of pale pink georgette, trimmed with velvet applique. Their halos were of pale pink flowers, and they carried bouquets of pale pink chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. The page boy (the bride's brother) wore black velvet trousers and a cream satin blouse. The flower girl was Miss Robin Paterson, who wore a frilly ankle-length frock of pale pink georgette, and carried a Victorian posy of pale pink everlasting flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Douglas Howell as best man and Mr Jack Harris. The reception was held at the bride’s home where the guests were received by the mothers of the bride and bridegroom. (cousin of the bridegroom), while Mr C. Glover acted as groomsman. As the bride left the church she was presented with a horse shoe by Samuel Bates. A reception was held at Mrs Sinclair’s residence, where Mrs Richardson (aunt of the bride) received the guests, assisted by Mrs L. C. Bates, the bridegroom’s mother. When Mr and Mrs Bales left later by the express for the north the bride was wearing a navy pin-striped costume. a smart navy hat, and accessories to tone.
