CHARITY BALL
The forthcoming Charity Ball will be the eighth such function held in Dunedin, and the energy and enthusiasm shown in the preparations in previous years, to which the success of those functions can be attributed, have been more than maintained by the various committees responsible for this year’s arrangements. As in former years, a’ prominent feature of the ball will be the presentation of debutantes to Bishop Whyte. To enhance the attractiveness of the function itself, an effective scheme of decoration is being prepared. From the galleries of the Town Hall a comprehensive view of the proceedings will be afforded those unable to participate actively. The members of the Ladies’ Committee are holding a number of social functions to obtain the sum necessary to provide the supper, which will be maintained at the standard of former years. The tickets are limited to a definite number, and intending patrons are advised to make early application to the D.I.C. booking office, where they will be on sale from Tuesday.
