By Guider

TRAINING The long-looked-forward-to date has arrived, and this week Miss Knight will arrive in Dunedin. Enrolments have been coming in steadily, and the following are exnected for whole or part time: —Central Otago—C. Baker (Omakau), P. Davidson (Clyde), J. Simpson (Alexandra), M. Richardson (Miller’s Flat); South Otago—M. Ussher (Milton), E. Murray and M. Webb (Clinton); North Otago—A. McLeod (Palmerston), O. Uttley (Oamaru); Dunedin —O. Campbell, M. Nevill. D. Sykes, E. There are still several companies unrepresented. It is to be hoped that even at this last minute it may be possible for them to send someone. For the Brownie training there are so far only eight definite enrolments, namely, B. Bowie. B. Brewin, E. Campbell, V. Roy, M. Warren, M. Blair, Geddes. and J. Wilson. There is time for this number to grow Each Guider attending the training will require:— Complete Guide uniform (overall only required). Mackintosh or overcoat (navy blue, n possible). Strong shoes (black or brown, according to colour of stockings). Gym. shoes. Extra stockings (black or official shade of brown). Jersey or jumper (navy or H.Q. blue, u possible). " •4pron or overall for orderly duties Change of underclothes. Nightdress or pyjamas. Blankets and pillow-case. Sheets, if desired. Small cushion or pillow Towels. Toilet articles. Cup, two plates, knife, fork, spoon, note book and pencil. Shoe and badge-cleaning outfit, clothes brush If you have a serge uniform, you may like to wear it to arrive in, but during the sessions Guide overalls will be thp most suitable attire If you have no overall, you can order from Hastings H.Q. and have one sent to camp There will be Guide note books pencils, and interesting equipment of all kinds obtainable in camp, probably overalls as well. The training will be held in the old Batchelor Hospital, on the corner of Forth and St. David streets. Guiders may arrive any time from 4 p.m. on. The first session will begin immediately after tea

In addition to the above list, which was that sent out to country Guiders, if is suggested that each camper bring a tea towel, that country Guiders bring a little cake, South Dunedin Guiders marmalade. Central jam. North honey. If any have a small bedside mat. it would add comfort to their rooms. Will country Guiders note that there was an error in the address given them The place of training i.s in Forth street, at the corner of St. David street, not Dundas street, as stated It is unfortunate that local training just precedes our national service week but it is to be hoped all plans are in hand as, naturally, next week’s meetings will be cancelled in order to let. Guiders attend the evening sessions.
