INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS AWARDS AT WAIKATO SHOW (Per United Press Association) HAMILTON, June 2. The International Salon of Photography awards, held at the Waikato Winter Show, are;— Champion Shield for the highest number of points for pictures accepted for exhibition: Francis Aszmann (Hungary). Challenge Shield for the best picture in novice classes: “ Winter Shadows," by Alfred Blyth (Canada). Challenge Cup for the best exhibit; “Penitence” ("Kain and Abel”), by Francis Aszmann (Hungary). Salon Medals Novices Landscape or seascape architecture: “Winter Shadows,” by Alfred Blyth (Canada). Portraiture and character studies: “ Mista Jim,” by Alfred Blyth. Any other subject: “Time Out,’ by Vince Thrapp (U.S.A.). World’s Pictorial Artists Members of photographic societies and clubs, any subject: “ Bright Eyes,” by Samuel Logan, F.R.P.S., England. Landscape or seascape architecture: “Printemps,” by L. Misonne (Belgium). Portraiture and character studies: “ Memento Mori,” by Axel Bahnsen (U.S.A.). Natural history or scientific subject: “The Dandelion,” by Otmar Schick (Czechoslovakia). Animals: “Peter,” by N. B. Cooper, A.R.P.S. (India). Any other subject; “Penitence” (“Kain and Abel”), by Francis Aszmann (Hungary). The judges were Messrs H. E. Gaze, F.R.P.S., H. Schmidt, F.R.S.A., and J. Treloar.
