TOWN HALL DANCE

A further stage in the 1938 dancing championship was reached last Saturday night, when the fifth heat in the contest was decided at the Town Hall dance. On Saturday another heat will be held, and patrons are reminded that in order to be eligible for the final, they must attend the Town Hall dances 15 Saturdays during the season. The winners in the final will again be sent to Melbourne, all expenses being paid, to represent the Town Hall dance in the Australasian Championship, for which prize money totalling £SOO will be distributed. The dance on Saturday will be held in the main hall. The music will be supplied by the Savonia Band, with Miss Olga Paul as the vocalist. Miss Paul, in addition, is an accomplished player of the pianoaccordion. The doors will open at 7 o’clock, and early patrons may dance to amplified music. The circle will be open to spectators at a small charga.
