ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE The weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the Otago Football Association was held last night, when there were present;—Messrs M. K. Haig (in the chair), E. J. Anderson (president). A. B. Smith, D. Hanlin, H. Cunningham, F. Ball, M. G. Mclnnes, A. Mcßae, and H. Woodhead (secretary). CANTERBURY TEAM Advice was received that the Canterbury representative team to contest the Jones Cup would arrive early on June 6, and would be under the management of Mr F. T. H. Bell. The Canterbury colours would be red and black jerseys, with white knickers and blue stockings. The team would leave again on Monday evening. The following would be the members of the team: —A. Laing, A. Porter, A. McMillan, A. K. (“Dick”) Anderson, M. A. Gordon (captain), A. K. Gordon, A. Allmond, R. Smith, A. Wilson, J. Smith, and M. White. Six of these players were in last year’s F.A. Trophy team, and played against the English touring team. M. A. Gordon was a New Zealand representative. CAVERSHAM TRIP

The South Canterbury Football Association extended an invitation to an Otago team to play at Timaru on June 6, the team to be either a representative or club eleven.—The secretary reported that the Caversham wished to accept the invitation, and the team was granted leave to travel. TRANSFER G. Murphy was granted a transfer from the Technical Old Boys Club to the Momington Club. REGRADING The High School Old Boys Club was given leave to play K. Kidd, a First Grade player, in the Second Grade on Saturday. F.A. TROPHY On the motion of Mr Mcßae, the committee decided to forward a challenge for the F.A. (English) Trophy to the New Zealand Football Association. EARLIER MATCHES It was resolved that next Saturday the matches usually starting at 3 p.m. would be played at 2.45 p.m. JONES CUP RESERVES The following players will be the Otago reserves for the Jones Cup match;—Back, Anderson (Northern); half, A. McQuarrie (Momington); forward, G. Henderson (Maori Hill). Training will be held at Logan Park to-night and Thursday. G. Taylor will captain the Otago team.
