LETTERS TO IRELAND (From Our Own Correspondent) LONDON, May 7. Letters have been received by Cardinal Macßory, Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All-Ireland, and by Mr de Valera, from Bishop Liston, Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland, conveying thanks for greetings on the occasion of the Catholic Centenary in New Zealand. _. , To Cardinal Macßory. Bishop Liston said that the presence of the Archbishop of Tuam, representing the Mother Church and the gracious inspiring letter of the Heirarchy of Ireland, gave the commemoration a spiritual quality and significance all its own. He offered thanks to his Eminence and, through him, to the archbishops and bishops for the joy and inspiration they had given on this occasion. Bishop Liston thanked Mr de Valera for the message from himself and the Government and people of Ireland, which was received with joy and enthusiasm. His letter renewed the sense of their immense debt, past anr present, in things spiritual and temporal, to Mother Ireland.
