A HURRIED EXIT
HOUSE DESTROYED BY FIRE (Pen United Press Association) BLENHEIM, May 13. A large six-roomed wooden house insured for £6OO, situated in the outer suburb of Springlands, was totally destroyed by fire at 3 o’clock this morning. The occupants, Mr and Mrs R. Beech, and their young child made a hurried exit and saved only a few articles of wearing apparel, as well as bedding and a radio set. No fire-fighting service was available and all the neighbours could do was to form a bucket brigade and save the adjacent buildings. The contents of the house were insured for £ 120.
