CARE OF THE TEETH The monthly meeting of the Natural Foods Association was held on Monday Mr Coppin presided over an attendance of about 60 and introduced Miss Crawford, who gave an address on ‘ Diet and Dental Deficiency ,l In the course of hex lecture Miss Crawford stressed the fact that the teeth had to be considered in relation to the whole body and that healthy teeth were a sign of general well-being, while dental disease of any kind was symptomatic of illhealth Furthermore, disease of the teeth was often the cause of many other ailments She stressed the importance of beginning with the child in its earliest infancy so that by a balanced diet, rich in vitamins and the essential jalts, the teeth might be kept whole and healthy This really lay in the field of preventive medicine, and was worthy of deep research The speaker stressed the point that the main evils of civilised life in this regard were over-eating, the eating of 100 much soft food, too many over refined foods and food deficient in vitamins and in minerals
