OFFICIAL FORECAST STILL UNSETTLED The following is the official weather forecast:— A shallow but extensive depression lies centrally over the Dominion. Pressure is low also over the Western Tasman Sea. Indications are for:— Winds.—Variable, with westerlies predominating in the north, and elsewhere east to north; force mainly light to moderate, but freshening at times in exposed positions. Seas.—New Zealand Waters—Rather rough at times on parts of the East Coast and Cook Strait, elsewhere slight to moderate. Humid, cloudy weather, with occasional light showers, was experienced during the _ day, the maximum temperature being 72deg. The wind was moderate from the north. The barometric pressure fell slowly, with a reading of 29.60 in at 5 p.m. WELLINGTON, Dec. 8. The weather to-day was overcast, with steady rain, and clouds low down on the surrounding hills.
