YESTERDAY’S PROCEEDINGS THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 8. The amendment to the Mining Bill, which provides that the Crown is to be paid 5 per cent, of the goldfields revenue collected instead of the 10 per cent, provided in the Bill, was agreed to by the Legislative Council this afternoon. Aided by the end-of-the-session feeling, 10 Bills were passed in the House of Representatives to-day. These consisted of six local Bills and four Government measures, the lastnamed being the Local Legislation Bill, the Sovereign’s Birthday Observance Bill, the Agricultural Emergency Regulations Confirmation Bill, and the School of Agriculture Bill. The Prime Minister (Mr Savage) stated before the adjournment of the House that four Bills remained to be passed—the Petroleum Bill, the Agricultural Workers’ Amendment Bill, the Dog Registration Bill, and the State Advances Corporation Amendment Bill—and the House would sit at 10.30 a.m. to-morrow to facilitate the disposal of these measures. The House rose at 10.50 p.m.
