THE UNEMPLOYED
POSITION IN BRITAIN MINISTRY'S ESTIMATES (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, Dec. 6. (Received Dec. 7, at 5.5 p.m.) The Ministry of Labour estimates that at November 15 insured persons ir employment, exclusive of persons within the agricultural scheme, totalled approximately 11,573,000 86,000 fewer than a month before but on a comparable basis 353,00<j more than a year before. At the same time the registered unemployed numbered 1.499.203. comprising 1,227,000 wholly unemoloyed. 216.806 temporarily laid off, and 54,797 normally in casual employment. The total was 108.954 more than a month before, but on a comparable basis 698,600 fewer than a year before.
